Introduction TCP / UDP

Quest3D comes with a set of Socket channels (in certain editions). They acts as a TCP client and allow to transmit text. Furthermore, a set of Network channels - confinded to DirectX only - is available. Our custom channels extend the Quest3D network capabilities in two realms by introducing TCP client/server functionalities and UDP transmission. |

TCP Plug-In

The TCP plug-in can act as a server or a client in a TCP communication environment. The following data structures are supported: Text and Buffer. The plug-in supports plain transfer with any participating TCP peer, and a more elaborate marshalled mode for bulk data exchange primarily between Quest3D applications. Multiple connections are supported. |

UDPreader Plug-In

UDPreader Reads and decodes UDP messages. |

UDPwriter Plug-In
|
||
UDPwriter Sends Quest3D native data via UDP. |
